Outstanding fishing trip July 2018 onboard First Light. The entire crew worked hard to put us on fish and we look forward to our next trip with them.
I have been fishing with Captain Steve Haeusler since the 90's. He is always the consummate professional. He is honest and works hard to put his clients on fish day in and day out. I have been charter fishing with different charters from the northeast coast to Louisiana for over the past 30 years. There is nobody I enjoy fishing with more than Steve and his fine mates. There have been many changes in the fishery over the years but Steve dedication, honesty, and work ethic have always been constant the entire time.
Need a special activity for your family, want to entertain business customers or just an action packed day? Try a deep sea, big game private fishing charter on the First Flight, a 47' Sport Fish Charter boat. This is a extraordinarily clean, fully equipped deep sea fishing boat in the Destin Harbor. The Captain, Steve Hausler is a first class gentleman (not a redneck like so many boat captains) and extremely knowledgeable. He shows his deep concern about each and every passenger ensuring their safety and encouraging a good time. His ability to put the boat on a great fishing hole is incredible. Today was a less than desirable day to go fishing (3-5 foot seas) and we still came home with tons of fish. I have been fishing in Destin for over 35 years and never have I experienced a deck hand like Wyatt. With 6 fishermen on board, he kept every hook baited, removed fish from the lines and was there the instant you needed him. Never once did anyone have to wait for him. Great experience! You will not be disappointed.
We had the opportunity to go out with Captain Steve and his first mate, Kyle, the first weekend in April. The seas were a bit rough (4 - 6 ft) but these guys really know what they are doing!
Captain Steve has a few secret fishing holes and knows just when and where to stop. We caught our limit of Amberjack and they were really nice size. I think the smallest one in the bunch was about 30 lbs and the biggest was a little over 50 lbs. We moved on to a few other fishing spots and pulled in some really nice size white snapper, Mingo snapper (a.k.a vermillion snapper), some Tilefish, a rock salmon, some grouper and even pulled in some really nice sized Red Snapper. Too bad we had to throw those back since they weren't in season.
Steve and Kyle took excellent care of us and made the trip one to remember. I'm already thinking about when we can plan the next one!
I highly recommend you spend your money with this crew because they know what they are doing!!
